Background: Originally born into a peasant family in Mongolia Neku was constantly sold into slavery until he was 5 and was bought by an old man named Zombyra. Upon meeting for the first time Zombyra freed him from his shackles and offered him a place to stay. Not having any other options, Neku chose to stay with the man. Having always lived in poverty, Neku was delightfully overwhelmed by the comforts of the middle class. Having decent shelter, food, but most of all the feeling of being loved is what Neku appreciated the most. As he grew up, Zombyra taught Neku everything he knew about Alchemy; at age 15 he was apprentice who already had more skill than most professionals. Soon after Zombyra developed an illness, and was watched over with love and care by Neku. A few months before his death, Zombyra entrusted a large book to Neku. It contained data and samples on many different herbs, ores, and other organic materials used for alchemy. Zombyra pleaded with Neku, to complete his book and his research. Neku promised he would. Months later, Zombyra died. Neku, after saying his final goodbyes to his former master sets off on a new adventure unlike any other…
